NHS Lothian Patient Experience Survey NHS Lothian is committed to providing quality care to patients and their families. Therefore, we want to make it easy and straightforward for patients, their families and carers to share their experience with us. Currently NHS Lothian uses Care Opinion, local service feedback and the complaints process to listen to our patients. In 2024 the Patient Experience Survey will be implemented across sites in NHS Lothian. The survey explores the values of person-centred care and whether you agree that this has been characterised in your care. Person-centred care is about focusing on the needs of you as an individual. It is about taking into account your preferences, needs, and values to guide decisions made by healthcare professionals and yourself about your care and treatment. It is about ensuring the care provided is respectful and responsive to you. The survey will be implemented across Acute Adult Hospital settings initially before being rolled out to other areas. If you are receiving care and treatment at any of these sites, please keep an eye out for any of the promotional material. You will be able to access the survey through a QR code or URL link on the promotional posters or business cards. If you struggle to access the survey via these means, you may have the opportunity to complete the survey with one of the Patient Experience Volunteers who will be going around wards and services. The information received from the survey will allow services to understand what things they are doing well as well as gain feedback on ideas of what could be improved. This is a great opportunity which we hope will add to the richness of understanding our patients’ experiences in NHS Lothian. Please look out for the Patient Experience survey posters and tell us what you think. Your feedback is important to us and thank you for taking the time to tell us what you think.
